Wicked at work, and Set In Darkness By Ian Rankin at home.![]()
Stitches by David Small. The autobiography of one of my favorite illustrators. Amazing, moving, disturbing and oddly hopeful. It's what A Child Called It wishes it was.
Proud fan of Pokey's member
Fluke, by Christopher Moore. I'm on a Christopher Moore kick, actually, as the books I finished up bfore starting Fluke were Lamb, You Suck, and A Dirty Job. I like his styleI kind of thought Fluke was going to be dumb, but I'm enjoying it.
ETA: I'm also in the middle of Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married, by Marion Keyes. That is my non-digital book I'm reading.
Just finished The Woman in Black. One chilling little read!
Winter is icumen in, [ 1 ]
Lhude sing Goddamm, [ 2 ]
Raineth drop and staineth slop,
And how the wind doth ramm!
Sing: Goddamm.
Skiddeth bus and sloppeth us,
Freezeth river, turneth liver,
An ague hath my ham.
Damm you; Sing: Goddamm.
Goddamm, Goddamm, 'tis why I am, Goddamm,
So 'gainst the winter's balm.
Sing goddamm, damm, sing goddamm,
Sing goddamm, sing goddamm, DAMM.
Does anybody know what the latest Ann Rule is and if it's any good? A friend of mine is coming from the USA next week, and she offered to bring me an "airport book."
The Well and the Mine By Gin Phillips. Take place in Alabama coal country, ca. 1931. Very good.
Dame un momento pa' probar de que estoy hecho
Soy el que va cuesta arriba,
Soy el que va al acecho

I have just started my second attempt at Until I Find You by John Irving. I love John Irving, but this one is so heavy with details it feels like work to read it.
I'm about to start The Quotidian Mysteries (Laundry, Liturgy, and "Women's Work") by Kathleen Norris.
