    Citing something specific/copying a post from a private forum could be a bannable offense if there is a way to prove/verify it .

    Alluding to knowing stuff is not a bannable offense.

    Question from the newbie... On this forum, is it preferred to search the board for a topic that's already been discussed and revive an old thread for it or to just start a brand new thread on the subject?

    Depends on who you ask

    Some people hate the bumping of old threads and some don't care. I personally don't search the board for topics (unless it's something that I think may have been recently posted because it's all over the news right now for example)

    I prefer to start a new thread instead of bumping an old one.

    Just look at how many sleeping threads we have had recently
