    Moving Forum to ProBoards

So, I am contemplating creating a simpler message board forum at ProBoards. It looks like it can be ad free for like $5 to $10 a month, instead of the $100 a month this forum costs.
I can't justify spending that money anymore. This forum doesn't get enough traffic.

I registered a forum name and will look at how to set it up. It seems to be Tapatalk compatible.

I'm thinking just a couple of forums: politics and not politics.

Subscriptions will be due again on Oct 19.

If we get enough $ to stay for 3 to 6 months then I will hold out until then.

But I've been paying outing of pocket for a few months now, and see no need to continue.

    Anyways, FYI- Heads Up.

Will keep everyone informed along the way.
We will be moving to the new forum on November 1st.
    Be sure to register.

I say do it. It makes no sense to spend that much money per month, particularly *your* money. The next subscription fees can be to pay for the new forum and reimburse you for the last few months.

I'm going to play on the new forum and see what it's like.
The biggest drawback is that we will lose all of our history here, which makes me sad, but life goes on.
I would still like a more anonymous place away from FB.

And all of the maint and updates won't need to be done by anyone (Truffles)

As long as we can have a private forum and a couple of others we should be fine.

We are a small group now.
We don't need a lot of bells and whistles. Just a place to chit chat and debate a bit.

And I can copy over our "Best Of " threads.
We will be moving to the new forum on November 1st.

    Seems like a good idea.

Thanks for doing the research. Sounds like a good plan.

What happens to this place? Do the posts get deleted or do they just float around in the ether?

Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most people don't recognize them.

Thanks for using your own money for as long as you have to keep this place going, Sprock.
