    Panera

    Anyone have one, still go?

I had a couple of gift cards from Christmas so I decided to stop in and pick up stuff to bring home for dinner.

Holy smokes their food is way overpriced.

Almost $10 for a bowl of soup!
And their sandwiches were skimpy and basic.

How are they still in business?
    Very disappointing.

They used to have a reasonably-priced soup/sandwich lunch deal if I recall correctly. I haven't been there since two years ago or so, though, so I don't know what their current deals are.

I have two , not super close by, to go often, but I usually do soup and sandwich or salad. I like their chicken salad. I have not noticed the portions are smaller.

DS and I went there earlier this week. Food was good, and not too overpriced. Lunch was $30ish for both of us, including dessert.

Last time I went to Panera I thought the food quality had decreased dramatically

I only go there for their tomato soup. Since that's all I buy, I don't spend a lot.

They changed their menu completely to "all natural" and most, if not all of the items I used to like, are gone. I always thought they were pricy, but had decent food, but since the menu change, I've maybe been once or twice.

It's one of those places we will stop if we need to eat relatively quickly but just can't stomach traditional fast food.

Quality has gone downhill, cleanliness has traveled hand-in-hand with the quality, and the prices seem higher each time we go.

They didn't even try to make the sandwiches look pretty. (I ordered it to take out).

I got 2 sandwiches, a bowl of soup and a side of mac & cheese, small package of choc chip cookies and it was $44 !
    Ridiculous.

Ours are still pretty good, I just went to my Panera app and my usual meal costs 12.67 you pick two and a drink.
Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most people don't recognize them.
