Actor Bill Paxton Dead at 61

“It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Bill Paxton has passed away due to complications from surgery,” a family representative said in a statement. “A loving husband and father, Bill began his career in Hollywood working on films in the art department and went on to have an illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and filmmaker. Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable. We ask to please respect the family’s wish for privacy as they mourn the loss of their adored husband and father.”

My goodness! I think he was in a new TV series this season, too. I mostly remember him as the Hydra guy who recruited Ward on Agents of SHIELD, although I know he was in other things too.

    Very sad

This has made me really weepy. I mean I've seen Bill Paxton in a ton of stuff obviously, but he was Ghosts of the Abyss - a Titanic documentary - which was ds' first "movie". And of course he was himself in it - I cannot tell you how many hours I spent with Bill Paxton when ds was young.

Way too young. Sounds like he likely had a blood clot that let loose after his heart surgery. Scary stuff.
