She sounds like a pretty upbeat and positive personality, which I'm sure will work well for her in some other environment...but they're right that preschool is not a good fit for her.

I'd expect my 3/4 year old to be engaged in play while honing her social skills and getting some early exposure to academics. I'm not interested in creating a pint sized SJW, so I would not be pleased with that level of activism at that age. I am not surprised someone would fire her if she feels justified in her methods.

I don't know that she's even be a good teacher for junior high/middle school. She clearly has no sense of propriety or child development, and from her description her "teaching" was all about her - not the kids.

That has got to be satire! I mean, can someone like her actually exist in the real world?!

What a nut! I highly doubt the principal is sorry!

I don't understand the comment about urbanites looking down on ruralites, though.

Oh, never mind. I thought hat was actually a comment about the story, not a comment about the comments!

Ugh. I can't imagine even trying to broach these subjects with my kindergarten kids. Not even close to being developmentally appropriate. I have a hard enough time teaching them to be kind to one another all day, lol. ( We are a work in progress. It isn't a full out brawl in my class every day, but I do have a few who are very handsy.)

I wouldn't want my preschooler in a classroom like that.
