Jury selection going on now, and the trial will start the beginning of October. Anyone planning on watching?

We (me, becca, and PK) need a good trial to watch. It keeps us bonded

I'm not sure about this one, though.

Yes! We DO need a good trial to watch!

Where can we watch? I've lost track now that CourtTV is off the air.

    Oh that asshole?
Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most people don't recognize them.

I am not a big trial watcher, but I have to ask, is it really that easy to forget that your child is in the car? I mean, I've left items in my car a time or two, but I can't imagine not remembering that my child is sitting in the backseat. I'm not a parent though, so am I missing something?

I think it's from being in a certain morning routine and something changes that routine. I tend to go on auto pilot in the morning.

This guy didn't make a mistake

When I went back to work after having Zach, there was one morning where I'm just tooling along on my way to work, like tpatt said, on auto-pilot.

Zach made a noise in the backseat and it startled me. I had forgotten to drop him off at the babysitter.

I do think that it can happen. I'm not convinced that's what happened in this case.

Oh, this is the one whee they think the dad did it on purpose (and IIRC, the evidence of that seemed pretty convincing). Usually with hot car deaths, I think sympathy and either no or very light punishment is in order, since it is an honest mistake. But if this guy not only intentionally murdered his child, but did it in an astoundingly cruel, horrific way, I hope it can be proven and I hope he faces justice for that.

IIRC, there are google searches of him reading about child-free life, and things like that, and he'd been pursing (or maybe even having?) affairs. Not that the latter makes one a child-killer, but it added to the sense that he was utterly dissatisfied with his life and wanted a clean slate.
