What's your definition of a long term marriage?

I was reading about Deborah Messing's divorce and it referred to her marriage as "long term". They were married for 10 years. That doesn't scream "long term to me". Now they met 10 years prior to their marriage (the article didn't say whether they were a couple that whole time).

Is 10 years the new 25?

I've had a couple of my cats longer than 10 years so not that long term to me I guess.....
Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most people don't recognize them.

    I'm thinking at least 20.

I'd say at least 20. No, 10 is not long-term.

Well you know, Hollywood, anything longer than a few months of promoting your film or TV show, is one heck of a haul! Seems to me 10 is Hollywood's magic number for divorce.

I don't know, I think 10 years is a pretty substantial chunk of time.
    Especially if you are young.

Put me on the 20+ bench.

At 10 years, dh and I were still getting going on our adventures together. Now after 20, we're more settled.

Debra Messing is 47 years old, though.
